Richland County Awards Friends Contract

The Richland County Commissioners Thursday awarded the county office supplies contract to Friends Business Source out of Findlay, Ohio. Richland County Central Purchasing Director Cathy Mosier says annually the county spends $300,000 for supplies and this one year contract will save the county $115,000 from that amount. The contract goes into effect Feb.1.

Friends Business Source hosted it's annual Customer Appreciation Day with a Block Party theme. Over 300 guests, vendors and employees enjoyed a very warm afternoon with great music, food and fun.

Friends Committment to Health and Safety
Friends Service Company firmly believes that people are our most important asset.  Each individual employee is important to his/her family, community and company.  All accidents are avoidable; the causes of work related and personal injuries and illnesses can be eliminated.  The prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses is the most important part of the operation of our business.It is the policy of Friends Service Company to promote health and safety and to prevent injury and illness to our employees, both on and off the job, by the constant application of every reasonable and practical means available to: 
  1. Provide safe and healthful working conditions;
  2. Protect employees and the community from undesirable health effects which could result from industrial processes, products, and wastes;
  3. Protect employees and company property from the result of accidents and fires;
  4. Promote and maintain the safety and health of all our employees;
  5. Promote and encourage off-the-job safety and health for our employees and their families
  6. And, to return the employee back to productive work as soon as possible.

Employees are personally responsible to themselves and Friends Service Company for their own safety and health.  In order to prevent personal injury, injury to others and damage to property, employees must use good judgment and observe all safety and health rules and job instructions relating to the performance of their work.  It is the responsibility of each supervisor to see that this policy is enforced.Our standards and rules for safety which are in place will provide a safe work place, if they are observed with strict compliance.  To obtain this compliance, disciplinary action will be administered, up to and including termination, when normal channels of coaching and counseling do not produced the required result. I expect each of you to understand and to give total support to this policy.
