Sherry is my sister. She has been the Reading Specialist for the Bedford District for quite a few years. Sherry truly loves being a teacher. I am amazed that after 18 years she is still motivated to create new and exciting tools to help her kids have fun with learning. My son Ryan has special needs and she has been a blessing. My Daughter Megan has Benefited from her guidance. Sherry guides me on what extra programs are available for my Kids. Her advice on how Ryan needs to learn and the exercises I can do with him has helped me to provide a learning environment for Ryan where he can and is truly succeeding. Kids truly come first with Sherry. The 100% effort Sherry gives is not specific to my Children. Sherry cares and loves all of the Kids she teaches, equally. Jackman Rd Elementary is very fortunate to have such an inspiring woman\teacher among the staff. On a personal Note: I had gone thru a terrible time with a mental\addictive illness. My sister came to me and volunteered to take in my children so that I could take the time needed to heal and strengthen myself. Sherry was totally supportive and told me "Like an airplane emergency, you need to put on your OWN oxygen mask first. It's the only way you can take care of anybody else." She let me know how important it was to get myself healthy so I can take care of the people in my life. It was the hardest decision i've ever had to make. To go away for 7 Months, leave my kids so I could heal.
With Out Sherry’s love and Support, the Amazing Life I have now, I fear would have never been possible. Sherry never once regretted her decision complained or became resentful. Sherry truly stepped in and mothered my children without a blink of an eye. She did this all for me. Her Sister. Sherry has just achieved the Role of PRINCIPAL at Jackman Rd Elementary. A goal that Sherry put on hold due to MY illness which created an instant added responsibility to her life. Yes my Sister unselfishly put her goal aside to put my life first. I will be forever grateful and indebted for the Sacrifice she willingly made for me. Sherry sacrifices for the better of All her children she teaches, her family she loves and all who have a need. I am very proud of the person Sherry is. I am Honored to be Sherry's sister. And so extremely Blessed That She is mine.
Sherry deserves to be rewarded for her Awesome Character and Dedication.
Sherry has achieved the Prestigious title of Principal.
Congratulations Sherry! You have Earned it. I love you.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my story,
